Regina Austrian Edelweiss Club

About Us

On May 14, 1974, the Austrian Canadian Edelweiss Club of Regina was founded. Its aim was to preserve and promote Austrian culture and traditions. The objective today is to continue providing opportunities to celebrate Austrian culture. And through the camaraderie of the membership and subgroups, the love of Austrian culture is maintained. We aim to keep Austrian traditions alive in Regina and we invite you to join us! New members are always welcome at the Austrian Club. Annual family and Single memberships are $20 and can be purchased by contacting the Austrian Club.

Austrian Edelweiss Dancers

The Austrian Dance group is open to everyone. You don’t need to be of Austrian decent. This is a non-profit organization. Practices are Tuesday evenings at the Austrian Club, beginning after Labour Day and ending with Mosaic. We have three different dance groups depending on the dancer’s age. We dance to maintain Austrian dance, culture, dress, and to have fun!

Austrian Club Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies Auxiliary was formed in 1977 to preserve and nurture our Austrian culture by supporting the main club and other under groups. Our members assist at Mosaic and other club events so many are able to experience our traditional food, dance, arts and crafts. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at the Club. Contact the Club for questions or information.

Hunting Club

Oesterreichischer Jagd und Fisch Verein (The Austrian Hunting and Fishing Club) gives those that share these hobbies an opportunity to gather. Meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of every month, September through June. Interested members can attend target practice which is held every 3rd and 4th Sunday indoors, September through April. Friendly target shooting competitions are held between the Austrian club and the German club. The club also holds a summer fishing derby, an ice fishing derby, and a hunting club family picnic which we hold at the club in August. There is an awards banquet once per year where members enjoy supper together and share hunting and fishing stories. New members are welcome. Hunting club members must also be members of the Main Club. If interested in joining the Oesterreichischer Jagd und Fisch Verein (The Austrian Hunting and Fishing Club) or if you are wanting additional information please call Arnie Barth at 306-543-9797 or Frank Schick at 306-949-1421.
